Novice Brother Speaks at Youth Rally

Chaminade, Kellenberg Students Also Attend Diocesan Event

Young people from across the Diocese of Rockville Centre gathered for a Youth Rally at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in Melville Saturday.  A novice Brother of the Marianist Province of Meribah was one of the featured speakers.

Bro. Peter Sennert, n.S.M., a Chaminade High School graduate of the Class of 2011, offered a thoughtful reflection focused on "wonder" – how it comes naturally to young people, inspires those who experience it, and becomes more precious with age.  He asked Youth Rally participants never to lose that sense of wonder, even as they grow older.  Bro. Peter explained the true wonder he discovered and continues to find in his vocation, in Christ, in His Blessed Mother, and the Church.

Students from Chaminade and Kellenberg Memorial High School were also on-hand for the Youth Rally.  Organized by the diocesan Vocations Office, the Youth Rally, titled "Be Amazed," also included a concert with Christian performer Sarah Kroger, lunch, confessions, and Mass with Bishop John Barres.  The Diocese organizes several youth events during the year.
